DOHA: Taking a major step to introduce stem cell research among the Qatari community, the research division of Qatar Foundation will host the inaugural Qatar Public Forum on Stem Cell Science and Policy.
The event is part of Qatar Foundation's ongoing initiative to promote stem cell research. Qatar's leading scientists, ethicists, and Islamic scholars and policy makers will participate in a panel discussion.
The forum will also give the Qatar community the opportunity to be involved in the discussion of stem cell research and policy. They will be encouraged to offer opinions and ask questions.
"Because of the importance and growth in stem cell science and research, Qatar Foundation will hold for the first time a forum to discuss the public's views on stem cell science," said Dr Abdelali Haoudi, Vice President for Research.
Qatar Public Forum on Stem Cell Science and Policy will be held on May 10 at the Weill-Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
