AMMAN (JT) -- Housing Bank for Trade and Finance (HBTF) Chairman Michel Marto announced Saturday in a press release that the bank's board of directors has appointed Omar Malhas as acting general manager. According to a statement made available to The Jordan Times, Malhas holds MA degree in international banking and finance from the University of Birmingham in UK and a BA degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana in the US.

"Malhas enjoys a diversified banking experience that span over 20 years at HBTF and financial institutions in the Gulf countries," the press release said. At present, he is vice chairman of Jordan Water Company's (Miyahuna), board member of the International Bank for Trade and Finance in Syria, board member of the International Financial Centre and a board member of the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau.
