DOHA: The French Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, Christine Lagarde, visited yesterday Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC).
Abdullatif Ibrahim Al Mohanadi, Acting Director of Ras Laffan, welcomed the minister and the accompanying delegation.
Lagarde attended a presentation which highlighted Ras Laffan Industrial City's facilities, services, end users, port expansion plan and future projects, followed by a tour of Ras Laffan City including Qatargas LNG processing facilities.
The minister showed great interest in Dolphin Energy, Ras Girtas Power Company and Laffan Refinery where French companies such as Total and Gas De France (GDF Suez) are among the shareholders.
Detailed information, achievements and operations related to these plants were presented by key representatives from RLC, Total, Technip and GDF.
She later said that she was very much impressed to witness developments of such magnitude and wished all the success to its builders and praised the efforts of the Qatari government and its people.
