Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Microsoft Corporation announced today that its Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on November 2nd 2010 to meet with the country's top officials and address a keynote at the opening ceremony of one of the largest Microsoft technical event in the country, Microsoft OpenDoor.

Ballmer's visit highlights Microsoft's commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will provide an instrumental platform to discuss how technology can enhance the overall development of the country and continue to make a positive impact on its people's lives.

Samir Noman, Microsoft Arabia President, said, "We are looking forward to welcoming Steve to the Kingdom. His visit is in line with Microsoft's goal to create a sustained economic opportunity where all citizens can access the power of technology and contribute to a broad knowledge economy. Government leaders are now beginning to understand the correlation between technology and the acceleration of productivity and GDP growth, and the need to build out the infrastructure to position their economies, businesses and jobs for the future. Khaled AlTaweel, Chairman of Secured Services Systems (SSSIT) highlighted the importunacy of MS events and its positive influence on the Saudi IT sector, "The technological leap Saudi Arabia is witnessing these days mandates a change in the IT organizations. This should be a step forward in the technical resources, policies and procedures. Organizations should adapt to the global technical change. Such events connects both the world IT leaders with the regional organizations." He said.

Ballmer's itinerary in the Kingdom will also include speaking at the opening ceremony of Microsoft OpenDoor, a three day technical event organized by Microsoft aiming to attract more than 2,200 IT technical professionals and developers in Saudi Arabia. The event will be held on 2 and 3 November in Riyadh and 7 November in Jeddah and will consist of three different tracks: one for IT professionals, one for developers, and one for technical managers. A major highlight of this landmark event will be the Microsoft partners' expo where top Microsoft partners will showcase their latest solutions and offerings for the Saudi market.
