Amman - The American Embassy in Amman today presented Jordan Customs Department with a donation of equipment valued at $130,000 to deter, detect, and interdict the illicit smuggling of weapons and protect borders.
Director General of Jordan Customs Department Major General Ghalib Al Sarayrah said the equipment will boost the department' capabilities to combat smuggling and illicit trade activities.
USA embassy Economic Counselor Joyce Wong said the embassy is committed to assisting the Jordanian government in combating illicit trade.
