Visions2Reality Kicks Off Tomorrow in Dubai
The Business Excellence Department at the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), in collaboration with the Sharjah Islamic Bank Academy, has announced an acclaimed line-up of speakers at the fourth edition of the Visions2Reality conference.
Over 350 leaders and senior managers from the UAE Government and private sector, alongside prominent guests from across the world, will be among the attendees at the conference, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on the 2nd of November 2015. Aired live on the internet, it will also be viewed remotely by a wider audience.
Under the theme of 'Our Youth on the Success Roadmap', the conference will encompass two panel discussions on 'Leadership and People Development', led by internationally renowned experts in the field.
Led by keynote speaker Dr. Tommy Weir, the first discussion panel will include HE Jassem Al Baloushi, and Mohammed Murad, who have many decades of experience and expertise at the very highest levels.
The panellists will explore a multitude of themes and questions that are pertinent to the fields of leadership and people development, particularly in the current environment. They will examine the definition of talent and the link between empowerment and risk, the importance of self-reflection and the ability to gain honest critical feedback, as well as the most effective ways to instil ethics, integrity and passion in young leaders.
The fourth edition of the conference is sponsored by Al Futtaim Motors (Platinum sponsor), Hind Al Oud (Diamond sponsor) and Dnata Travel Services (Tourism partner). Visions2Reality furthers the objectives set forth in the collaboration agreement signed between DED and Sharjah Islamic Bank in 2012, which facilitated the launch of a series of forums, seminars, and workshops related to various economic issues of concern to the region and the world. It builds upon the resounding success achieved by the first three such conferences, held on an annual basis.
About the Speakers
Dr. Tommy Weir is a speaker, advisor and author on Innovative Leadership and People Development, who has worked with more than 3,000 CEOs and business leaders from around the world, and has a rich history of advising governments and corporations on strategic and future-oriented leadership.
HE Jassem Al Baloushi, Head of Organization Excellence and Chairman of Sharjah Tatweer Forum, has more than two decades of experience in leadership, business development, and strategy formulation and execution.
Mohammed Murad, a veteran of Dubai Police who has also served as the CEO for the Dubai Institute for Human Resource Development, recently concluded a term as the International President of the California-based non-profit organization Toastmasters International.
An expert roster of speakers will also serve on the second panel, including Alex Davda, Tara Cherniawski, and Marwa Karoura.
Alex Davda - a business psychologist, client director at Ashridge Business School, and a weekly columnist for the National Newspaper - has broad experience in Europe and the Middle East, supporting clients in the application of a range of innovative assessment and development approaches.
Tara Cherniawski has worked as a senior Learning & Development specialist in leadership coaching and facilitation for a multitude of leading companies across the world, including in a role heading up Jumeirah Group's Corporate Learning & Development, responsible for more than 14,000 employees. Marwa Karoura has over 15 years of coaching, training, leadership, management and human resources experience in a variety of diverse settings.
