MUSCAT: SpiceJet, the second largest low cost airline in India, is further increasing its international services with the addition of two more weekly flights on the Muscat-Ahmedabad sector, taking the total frequency to 5 flights a week. The additional flights commenced operations from May 13. The additional flights are now open for booking at a promotional offer fare of RO 38  all-inclusive for Muscat-Ahmedabad. The two additional flights will depart Muscat every Thursday & Monday at 1.10 am and depart Ahmedabad every Wednesday and Sunday at 11pm. "India and Oman have an excellent partnership, and the passenger demand between these countries has been growing strongly," said Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer (COO), SpiceJet Ltd. "These additional frequencies are a part of our plans to increase our international services, and we expect to add more flights and frequencies to current and potential new international destinations in the coming months as we add more aircrafts", he added.

Muscat is one of seven international destinations currently served by SpiceJet and was the  proud recipient of the "2014 Top Airline by Growth in Muscat (South-Asia)" award last year that was to recognise the tremendous 277 per cent growth in the number of passengers carried by the airline to and from Muscat International Airport in year 2014.

Cashio Vettom, General Manager, Khimji's House of Travel said, "SpiceJet started  its Muscat operations from Ahmedabad on 29th August 2013. Since then, the airline has added additional sectors with connectivity to several more cities in India via Ahmedabad. The additional flights will be a huge boost for travellers homebound both on leisure and business," he added.
