TUNIS (TAP) - An inner cabinet meeting will be held, Monday afternoon, to decide urgent measures for the tourist sector after last June 26 terrorist attack on a hotel in El-Kantaoui, Sousse, Chief of Staff of the Tourism and Handicrafts Minister Nabil Bziouche said.

Speaking at a meeting with the press held Monday in the Tourism Ministry to present the "International Ramadan Iftar meal" scheduled for July 2, 2015 in The Kasbah square, he added that the measures to be taken today will involve training, re-training of hotels' security officers and study of the impact of the recent terrorist attack in Sousse.

He said it was agreed at a working session held, Saturday between Minister of Tourism and Minister of Interior, to implement a working programme for training of hotel executives, the aim being to further sensitise them about the importance of security to be able to inform the security authorities in case they suspect any person.

He noted that units stemming from the Ministry paid 485 control visits to hotel units, after last March 18 terrorist attack at Bardo Museum.

Bziouche said that the Ministry considers changing the communication strategy and the promotion of the destination after the Sousse attack, underlining that this strategy will be flexible and changing according to the current events.

The Tunisian tourism will resist despite the attack and tourist and cultural events will continue, he said.
