DOHA: Qatargas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) yesterday recognised Qatargas employees, who have been instrumental in Qatargas becoming the first company in Qatar to achieve accreditation for its professional engineers development programme, from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and Institution of Engineering Technology (IET), a statement said yesterday.
At a ceremony hosted at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, seven Qatargas employees were recognised for their contribution towards the Accreditation - Dean King - Engineering Manager, Ibrahim Bawazir - Surveillance Division Manager, Hessa Al Nesf - Chemical Engineer I, Nicola Rudge - Learning and Development Manager, Adnan Al Shaibi - Head of Qatarisation and National Development, Julia Calleja - Development Specialist and Mohammed Imran - Senior Career Development Assistant.
Qatargas CEO Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani after presenting the recognition certificates said: "I am proud of this pioneering achievement made by Qatargas and thank the team of employees who have contributed greatly towards obtaining these internationally recognized accreditations."
He added: "Accreditations such as this one importantly demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the highest international standards, while ensuring that we will have qualified and competent national engineers to contribute towards the continued success of Qatargas and the State of Qatar. In the long term, this will help Qatargas to continue to attract and retain focused, committed engineering graduates, enabling the company to cultivate a highly skilled and professional, engineering staff."
The accreditations were recommended and approved by the IChemE and IET following a detailed and thorough evaluation of Qatargas as a suitable training organisation. The accreditation indicates that Qatargas' training and development programme meets the highest standards and that the company has committed qualified staff and resources to the professional development of engineers.
