DOHA (Zawya Dow Jones)--State-run Qatargas signed an agreement Monday with Gasal Q.S.C. to receive gaseous nitrogen through a pipeline at the industrial city of Ras Laffan, the two companies said in a statement.
Gasal, a joint venture between Air Liquide, Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company, will supply Qatargas with nitrogen via a five kilometer pipeline and air separation unit that was built in 15 months and commissioned in December last year.
Nitrogen is used in oil, gas and chemical downstream industries.
Gasal was established in 2006 to provide industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and argon to the steel, chemical and hydrocarbon downstream industries in Qatar.
