Dubai: A one-stop centre offering an integrated package of services for quick and cost-effective settlement of disputes between businessmen and investors in the emirate has been set up in Business Village.

The Department of Economic Development (DED) in co-operation with the Dubai Courts has opened the new centre to provide a soft alternative to the judicial process through facilitating amicable and affordable settlement of disputes before referring them to the prosecution.

The Centre has offices where legal suits can be filed as well as a judge specialised in settling disputes, in addition to a group of experienced and qualified arbitrators.

Major step

Opening the Centre for Amicable Settlement of Disputes at the Business Village is a major step towards supporting economic activity in the emirate. It will contribute to resolving disputes to ensure economic and social stability, said Dr Ahmad Saeed Bin Hazim, Director-General of Dubai Courts. The Business Village is a strategic location that brings together businessmen and companies under one roof, he said.

Sami Al Qamzi, Director-General of DED, said: This initiative further demonstrates our keenness to strengthen communication and cooperation with all government authorities concerned as a means of enhancing economic and business standards.
