Sharjah: Motorists in Sharjah can now renew their vehicle registration and apply to replace lost or damaged registration cards online.

Sharjah Police announced that it will stop the renewal of vehicle registration at licensing service centres starting from November 17.

The new service works if a vehicle has a valid test certificate and insurance, said Colonel Rashid Salem Al Bass, director of Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, said.

Vehicles not older than three years from the date of registration are exempt from providing a test certificate, Col Al Bass said.

Motorists have to log on to the Ministry of Interior’s website www.moi.gov.ae to obtain their vehicle registration.

The initiative aims to facilitate services to customers and enable them to complete their transactions through smart applications without approaching the traffic and licensing department.
