 Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Program (MBRSLP), the main incubator of innovation and creativity, takes part in The UAE nationwide "innovation week" November 20 to 26, 2016.

In a nationwide tour, the pioneering innovation program will highlight its participants' innovative projects.

Since its inception in December 2012, "Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program (MBRSLP) holds a distinguished record that aims at fulfilling the UAE’S 2021 Vision to become a world-class nation for innovation and progressive education. 

The program laid the benchmarks and requirements necessary for creating a dynamic ecosystem in which technology is integrated with learning to stimulate innovation in governmental schools.

UAE innovation week will touch upon a plethora of innovative ideas, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. As part of the Sharjah innovation fair, Al Majd School with Expo Sharjah will gear up to showcase "the smart radio "and ” Etihad kit” for innovators. Meanwhile, other talented students will show their skills in using 3D printers to make models.

In the same vein, students in the Emirate of Ajman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, demonstrate their aptitude in making smart broadcasts. Further, the Ministry will polish their skills through training workshops.

As part of an "Innovation Day" hosted by the school of Falj Al Mualla in the Emirate of Om Al Quwain, all schools in the Emirate will compete showcasing their innovative projects.

In the Emirate of Dubai, "Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program takes part in "the Ministry of Education fair", to be held in "Dubai Festival City", through demonstrations of innovative use of "Etihad kit”.

Al Ebdaa Model school participated with a myriad of inventions include a solar-run vehicle. Meanwhile, Al Safa School invented, among other things, Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program app.

Al Fujairah Emirate participated with two inventions where students created two apps. The first is a fire alarm while the latter is used in house designing.

Students of Elsheikha Fatma School in Ras Al Khaimah participated with a variety of innovations include a 3D building design using 3D printers.

"Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program participation in UAE week of innovation is in line with UAE’S 2021 Vision to stimulate innovation in the national education sector and reshape it into a digital education to help transform our country into a knowledge-based economy," noted Mohammed Gheyath, the Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program.

"The Ministry of Education has earlier put a comprehensive based-innovation plan then came Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Program to be the vehicle for development and progress in the education sector. Its fuel in that journey is integrating smart technology with traditional methods across all schools in the country," added Gheyath

He also pointed out that launching this national initiative is in line with the UAE’S 2021 Vision aims to become a world-class nation for innovation.

About MBRSLP 
The Program was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in April 2012 and is aligned with UAE Vision 2021 to become a knowledge-based economy through the integration of technology in education.

Through the Program, the UAE is investing heavily to bring the latest technology to the schools, encouraging the development of creativity, analytic thinking and innovation. The MBRSLP aims to shape a new learning environment and culture in federal schools through the launch of “smart classes” that will provide every student with an electronic tablet and access to high-speed 4G networks by 2019.

The initiative, funded through the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Fund, is under the guidance of the Ministry of Education as well as the Prime Minister’s office. This is a testament to both the promise of the Program and the dedication of the UAE Government to education and ICT.

PROGRAM IN NUMBERS

Phase I of the Program covered 123 schools and fully implemented Smart Learning techniques with 11,000 students in the 2013/14 school year.

Phase II of the Program includes 25,000 students from Grade 7 and 8 during the 2014/15 academic year, as well as Pilot Phase for Grade 9 students.

With every academic year, the Program will proceed according to a systematic plan to absorb more students and schools until it reaches all UAE government schools by the year 2019.

As the Program progresses, regular updates of all its elements including technology devices, teaching methodologies and supporting platforms will be made available.

What is UAE Innovation Week?

UAE Innovation Week is a nationwide celebration of innovation for everyone in the UAE in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. It is one of the largest innovation initiatives in the world and a consolidated effort by government, the private sector and individuals to help create a widespread culture of innovation in the UAE and strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation.
