Keeping abreast of the latest technological and business developments
The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) launched its new website www.goic.org.qa on the sidelines of the 93rd regular meeting of the Organization's Board that was held today in its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. This meeting was attended by undersecretaries from ministries of agriculture in GCC countries, a representative of the Gulf Cooperation Council General Secretariat and GOIC Secretary General Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel. This event is part of the Organization's efforts striving to develop and broaden its consulting and technical services to cover all sectors.
Renewing the website aims at facilitating communication with local and Gulf actors; it will allow exchanging information and reinforcing cooperation between industrialists and their stakeholders. It will also shed light upon GOIC's achievements and projects and keep up with activities related to industrial matters and corporate projects. In fact, GOIC believes a good website is among the main elements of developing businesses, hence the importance of renewing and developing its website and enhancing its content.
GOIC Secretary General Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Ageel stated: "Many factors drove this change, the first being technical: the increasing number of web surfers and the variety of web surfing means make it imperative to keep up with this technological advancement." He added: "The second factor is the transformation of internet users' mentality: the new lifestyle set by the latest technologies including smart phones and social media created a comprehensive change that was taken into consideration while developing our new website."
Al-Ageel opined: "The change in business management is also among the main reasons behind the renovation of our website; GOIC is expanding its business activities, services and products to cover as many sectors as possible and this should all be posted on the website and be accessible to all."
The new web design allows GOIC to feature in top results of internet search engines. It is a flexible and modern design with a user-friendly interface and several links that allow users to choose specific sections according to their needs. This reflects GOIC's commitment to facilitate users' access to information they seek.
The IT Department at GOIC developed a content management system that allows reinforcing and updating editorial content using specific control tools. In addition, this system provides a central database containing everything that is published on the website.
