Demonstrating its well-entrenched popularity, the GMC Terrain compact SUV scooped the highest ranking in its respective segment in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. The brand gained six spots, moving up to No. 10 overall (in a tie) in the study, which tracks 2012 model year vehicles in the third year of ownership.

"It gives us immense pleasure to be recognised by J.D. Power study that is a benchmark for automakers and gives us unbiased feedback directly from the customers. Terrain is a model that has unrivalled features and we hope we can retain the title in subsequent years as well," said Mr. Virendra Agarwal, CEO of Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Co LLC, exclusive distributors of the GMC brand in the Sultanate.

At prices starting from RO 12,995, the 2015 GMC Terrain offers a sophisticated blend of quiet efficiency, performance and prestige typically associated with similar sized models from luxury marquees.

The GMC Terrain introduces drivers to the brand's Commands Respect design and features in a well-appointed vehicle. The 2015 model features 3.6 L V-6 engine with direct injection and continuously variable valve timing is SAE certified at 301 horsepower and 369 Nm of torque.  All models include an array of passive and active safety features as standard including, but not limited to, four-wheel disc brakes with StabiliTrak electronic stability control and traction control, six air bags and rear-view camera.

Terrain's approach to performance blends precise, efficient power with responsive handling and robust braking to help keep you firmly in control wherever the road may take you speeds and outstanding fuel efficiency on the highway.

For a higher level of confidence when traction is in short supply, Terrain offers on-demand All-Wheel Drive that constantly monitors for wheelspin and automatically transfers power to the wheels with the best grip. When negotiating a downhill slope, this smart system will automatically monitor braking, acceleration, throttle position even whether a trailer is connected to prevent unwanted acceleration and reduce wear and tear on the brakes.

To ensure a smooth and quiet riding experience, Terrain engineers have designed a body-integral structure with single-piece body side stampings and targeted applications of high-strength steel.

As can be expected of all its products, safety is an abiding priority at GM as continually attested by its excellent safety ratings from the NHTSA.  Standard safety comes from six airbags, which include front side-impact and front/rear head curtain side-impact airbags. To elevate occupant protection, GMC Terrain also offers optional lane-departure and forward-collision alert systems and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution.

Also as standard is the StabiliTrak electronic stability control, traction control and rollover mitigation system, designed to improve vehicle stability on most road surfaces, especially during emergency manoeuvres.

The spacious interior of the GMC Terrain is complemented with the user friendly and feature rich IntelliLink infotainment system. IntelliLink uses Bluetooth or USB to connect the driver smartphone to Terrain's new seven-inch, high-resolution, full-colour touch screen display radio. IntelliLink allows smartphone control via voice activation and steering wheel-mounted controls, and streaming stereo audio from the phone. Most importantly, IntelliLink enables seamless integration of stowed portable devices with Terrain's infotainment system, allowing minimum driver distractions.

The standard and segment-exclusive MultiFlex sliding rear seat can be moved back and forth nearly 200 mm, providing increased passenger comfort - including 1,013mm of legroom - or greater rear cargo capacity.

Additional interior features include automatic climate control, colour touch radio with seven-inch touch-screen display, USB and auxiliary inputs, Premium Pioneer sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, rear-seat entertainment system, ambient lighting around the door handles, tilting and telescoping steering column and sunroof in the SLT-2.
