DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--French minerals group Imerys plans to set up a joint venture industrial plant with Bahrain's Al Zayani Investments in the Gulf Arab state, English-language daily Gulf Daily News reports Sunday.
The joint venture facility is set to produce white fused aluminium oxide, which is used in abrasives, refractories, sandblasting and thermal coating, for international markets, the paper reports, citing companies' executives.
Imerys chairman and chief executive officer Gilles Michel said the group is seeking to establish a new plant in the region as the Gulf's location is ideal for supplying the global market, according to the daily.
