In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he pointed out that no reply was received from the National Alliance on the letter sent to it.

On the reply of premier Nouri al-Maliki and the time table to finalize political differences, the statement added, quoting the Sadrist leader, that "no reply was received".

Earlier reports said that the National Alliance sent a letter to the Sadrist Trend, following the 5-man consultative meeting in Arbil.

President Talabani held a number of meetings with Iraqi political figures to unify political stands.

Iraqiya bloc, in cooperation with Ahrar bloc, affiliate to the Sadrist Trend, warned of withdrawing confidence from the present government.

The Kurdish Alliance did not decide its stand, despite the continued criticisms by Kurdish region president Masoud Barzani against Premier Nouri al-Maliki.

Barzani charged the present government of being "a loser" and Maliki trying to "unilaterally" controlling the state.

A number of meetings were held to find a solution, particularly the 5-man consultative meeting in Arbil in 28 April last.

Premier Maliki hinted of possibility of dissolving the parliament and make early elections.

Iraq is witnessing continued political crisis since December last along the accusations against vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with terrorism and the attempts to demote deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq, both leading members in Iraqiya bloc.

Mutlaq described Premier Nouri al-Maliki as "a dictator", while Kurdish region president Masoud Barzani described the Iraqi government as "a loser", and charged Maliki to "unilaterally controlling the power in Iraq".
