Abu Dhabi, April 26th, 2012 (WAM) -- As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its customers' connectivity to the rest of the world, Etisalat UAE has opened up South Sudan telecom networks. Customers in the UAE can now make calls to the Republic of South Sudan, which was officially declared an independent state last year in July.
The customers will also enjoy roaming services while traveling to South Sudan starting from today. To make international calls from the UAE to South Sudan, customers need to dial +211, followed by the destination number. Based on the customers subscription plan, calls will be charged similar to those made to North Sudan with dial code +249. Commenting on the new service, Matthew Willsher, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat said, "We at Etisalat work relentlessly to increase our customers global reach and connectivity. Opening telecom networks to South Sudan lets our customers keep in touch with their businesses and communicate with their friends or families residing in this newly independent Republic."
