Dubai: Business Park Free Zone, part of Dubai World Central (DWC), has wrapped up B2B (business to business) meetings with companies in China in a bid to attract foreign investment, according to a statement on Monday.

The delegation from DWC’s Business Park visited three Chinese cities including Beijing, Chengdu and Taiyuan. The meetings were facilitated by LPT Management Consultancy.

Business Park held meetings with companies from China’s perishables, logistics and general trading sectors, who are keen on expanding their operations in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region, according to Paolo Serra, VP, Business Park.

“Currently, we have over 2,500 companies based at DWC and the objective of this tour was to demonstrate the exciting value proposition DWC holds for Chinese businesses,” he said in the statement.

China is the UAE’s second largest trading partner, with trade volume having reached $54.8 billion (Dh201.3 billion) in 2014, according to the statement, citing a report from state news agency WAM.

The China meetings are the latest in a series of international outreach initiatives planned by DWC to attract foreign investments. Earlier this year, its business delegation toured Italy. In 2013, it visited New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to attract investors from India.
