ENOC Retail employees Janet M. Nacional and Engelbert Ancajas went beyond the call of duty to showcase the value of integrity at DSF Mega Raffles

Since the 20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival kicked off on 1 January, hundreds of ENOC staff members have been working doubly hard at multiple outlets in Dubai to ensure the success of two of DSF's most popular mega raffles - the Infiniti Mega Raffle and Nissan Grand Raffle.

From reporting lost wallets containing tempting amounts of cash to going the extra mile to adhere to ENOC Retail's policies - these 'behind the scenes' champions of DSF's "Journey Into Winning" have demonstrated great integrity and enthusiasm in ensuring the true success of DSF's Mega Raffles through their praiseworthy acts of honesty.

ENOC is a Strategic Partner of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and the organisers of DSF, which this year runs until 1 February.

"The remarkable display of honesty by our staff members is truly a matter of pride for ENOC and we are delighted to have a team of extremely  hardworking and dedicated employees, who are continually striving to deliver exceptional service on all fronts at our numerous outlets across Dubai. As a Strategic Partner of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, we play a major role in promoting the DSF Mega Raffles. By going the extra mile, our team members have demonstrated strong work ethics and a strong sense of integrity. DSF, after all, is not just about winners. It's also about everyone who works behind the scene," said  Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director, ENOC Retail.

Janet M. Nacional, an employee of the ZOOM shop at Etisalat metro station, turned out to be an agent of good luck for Abdullah Eissa, a Syrian national who won the Nissan Grand Raffle on 12 January. After leaving his office located inside the metro station, Abdullah headed to the ZOOM outlet to buy some mobile credit in addition to other essentials. He received nine coupons as part of his purchase but told Janet that he considered filling coupons a futile exercise as he never thought he could win.

On that note, he gave his coupons to Janet. However, just minutes later, Abdullah saw Janet following her to his office informing him that ENOC Retail's policy did not permit her to use her name on his coupon tickets. While Janet could have used the opportunity to sign them off with a friend's or a relative's name, she chose to adhere to the store policy and rushed to Abdullah to return the tickets. Abdullah then requested her to fill his information on the ticket on his behalf. Hours later, Abdullah was announced the winner of the Nissan Grand Raffle.

On 17 January, Engelbert Ancajas, a 31-year old employee of the ENOC outlet on Al Wasl Road, found a wallet atop the Infiniti Mega Raffle box at the Infiniti booth outside the store. Without a second thought, Engelbert handed over the wallet to the shift manager. The wallet contained AED 21,520 in cash in addition to a few IDs and business cards. In line with the standard procedures, the shift manager lodged the incident on the Customer Care Hotline and called the number displayed on the business card.

The owner of the wallet, Mr. Bin Saif, a UAE national arrived at the gas station and was overjoyed to find his wallet and all its contents in place. He said that he is a regular customer and earlier that morning, he bought an Infiniti Mega Raffle ticket and forgot to pick up his wallet from the box. Upon finding his wallet, he thanked Engelbert personally and also called the ENOC Area Manager to express his gratitude and appreciation for Engelbert's honesty.

"I didn't think twice about handing over the wallet to my supervisor. Money cannot buy you good reputation and I believe in the old saying that honesty is the best policy," said Engelbert, a former member of the Philippine Navy.
