Career Expo has signed an agreement with Bahrain International Exhibition Center (BIEC) for the upcoming Carrer Expo to be held in Bahrain.
The expo will be held under the patronage of Dr. Majeed Al Alawi, Minister of Labour and in support of the National Society for Support of Education & Training (NSSET).
Abdul Ellah Al Qassimi, Chairman of Career Expo 2008 Steering Committee, signed a booking agreement for the conducting of the Career Expo 2008, which is to be held from October 21 to 23, 2008. Career Expo is a non-profit annual event that is being organised for the 8th time. Present at the signing ceremony besides Al Qassimi, were Farooq Jaffar, in-charge of the Expo's Venue Organisation Committee and Transportation Committee; and Mohammed Fathalla Mohammed, Acting Chief Executive, Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority. The three-day event targets Bahraini secondary school students, vocational students, jobseekers, parents and the community at large, in an effort to enhance Bahraini student and jobseeker understanding of the professional world, and to guide them in choosing, or changing, their careers; thereby enriching job prospects and the quality of the Bahraini workforce.
The previous expo attracted different organisations and it is anticipated that more than 120 organisations will participate and approx. 20,000 visitors will visit Career Expo 2008, including corporate companies, universities, colleges, and other educational institutions; representing a variety of sectors such as: Science and Engineering; Banking and Finance; Catering and Hospitality; and Petroleum and Gas. International Exhibitors also took part in the expo, coming from Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. More than 15,000 visited the last year's expo.
The Steering Committee for Career Expo 2008 also recently signed an agreement with local Public Relations and Event Management consultancy, EVENTSCOM- Bahrain, for the organisation, logistical support, and marketing of Career Expo 2008.
