Cambridge, UK & Dubai, UAE; January 26 2015: Camcon Oil, a provider of intelligent gas lift solutions to the oil & gas industry, today announced the appointment of Abdel Ben Amara as Business Development Manager for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.

Based in Dubai, Abdel will report to the Camcon CEO. He will be responsible for leading the development and sales of Camcon's groundbreaking Digital Intelligent Artificial Lift (DIAL) solutions portfolio to oil operators in the region and for building and managing a distribution network.

Abdel Ben Amara commented on his appointment and the opportunities for Camon in the MENA region:

"With operator requirements to maximize production and reduce the cost of oil against the backdrop of low oil prices, the MENA region holds great opportunities for Camcon's gas lift technology. The ability of our DIAL solutions to reduce well interventions and operate and monitor wells remotely - thereby significantly reducing operating expenditure - makes this the perfect time to ramp up operations in the region and elsewhere. I look forward to the challenge."

His words were backed up by Camcon CEO & Deputy Chairman, Danny Chapchal, said: "Abdel's appointment shows our commitment to the region, a determination to build good relationships with local distribution partners and oil operators, and establish core reference installations in the Middle East. I am delighted to welcome Abdel to the Camcon team. This will be the first of several appointments in this and other regions."

Abdel joins Camcon with over 11 years' experience in the oil, gas and manufacturing industries. He has spent the last year as Head of Business Development & Engineering Services at World Petroleum Partnership, preceded by senior roles for PCM and Piolax. Abdel has a Masters Degree in Engineering from the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieur de Metz in France.

Camcon Oil has developed a range of Digital Intelligent Artificial Lift (DIAL) solutions that deliver significant operational benefits and enhancements far beyond the current capabilities of existing gas lift solutions. Through its flagship solution APOLLO, operators can vary gas injection rates and depth in real-time without production interruption and well intervention and can increase recovery from individual wells by up to 30%.

Recent tests showed that APOLLO can deliver as much as 1,000 BOPD (Barrels of Oil per Day) more oil production from a typical well and, in one scenario, a 110% increase in production compared to traditional gas lift equipment.
