Dubai, United Arab Emirates - H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline, visited the ACWA Power stand at the 18th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016) this morning. His Highness was received by Mohammed Abunayyan, Chairman of ACWA Power, and Paddy Padmanathan, President & CEO of ACWA Power, who explained to His Highness the latest progress of the company’s major projects in the UAE. Also joining the delegation was His Excellency Emad Madani, the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Dubai and His Excellency HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. 

ACWA Power, who is a titanium sponsor at this year’s conference, has major projects on show, including the Shuaa Energy PV IPP - the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park - which is set to produce 200MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar power in the UAE, as well as Hassyan Energy Phase 1 PSC, which is set to generate 2,400 MW of energy in the country and utilises a special technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The UAE recently ratified the Paris climate change agreement, one of only around 60 countries globally that has so far done so.
