Under the patronage of HEis excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan

Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, will be hosting the 11th International Conference of Al Noor (ICAN) on March 24 and 25 at the Rosewood Hotel. This year's conference, which is held in affiliation with the UAE Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, will convene under the theme 'Current Surgical Practices, Challenges and Solutions.

In its 11th edition, the conference aims at bringing together Bariatric Surgeons, General Surgeons, Laparoscopic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Paediatric Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Cardiac Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists, Anaesthesiologists, Anaesthesia Technicians and Operating Room Nurses to present the newest developments and exchange knowledge on numerous topics related to surgery.

Dr. Georges Feghali, the Conference President said: "The practice of surgery has witnessed significant evolution across the years; today surgical advancement is valuably evident in treating many conditions using highly skilled techniques, from traditional open general surgery to the more frequently used minimally invasive techniques. Therefore, it is of paramount importance for healthcare professionals to stay abreast of the ever evolving developments in this field." 

Prof. Dr. Safwan Taha, Conference Director, Consultant General, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon, Medical Director of Al Noor Hospital Airport Road Branch and President of the UAE Chapter of the American College of Surgeons said: "The two-day conference will boast a distinguished faculty of experts in the field of surgery from the UK, Italy, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar and from the United Arab Emirates.

Prof. Taha added: "At the conclusion of the conference participants will have attained insights into the recent advancements in surgery, acquire knowledge about the importance of tailored management for different surgical diseases and reminded about the benefits of applying a multi-disciplinary approach to surgical management."

It is worth mentioning that the conference is accredited by the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi for 13 Continuing Medical Education hours.
