KUWAIT: A  Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs official issued an administrative decision regulating the appointment of expats in various ministry departments and the monthly payment per position. According to the decision released by Undersecretary Fareed Emadi, a supervisor general will get KD 300, a center supervisor will get KD 250, an administrative supervisor will get KD 200, a teacher and Quran instructor will get KD 250, an accountant will get KD 180, a secretary will get KD 150 and a guard will get KD 30 per month. The decision also stressed that expats will only be appointed if their services are urgently needed. In addition, the decision ordered the formation of a central committee presided by the undersecretary to take decisions on these appointments.

No suspension
Meanwhile, the information ministry strongly denied suspending the salaries of those working for monthly payments as a part of its rationalization plans to cut expenses. The ministry explained it has cut the incentives paid for taking part in various programs and that some technicians and administrative staff who had been working on monthly payments, whom the ministry does not currently need, have been laid off to meet the ministry’s budget.
