Gulf Contracting Company (GCC) Hold Ceremony to mark the commencement of structural concrete at Al Majed Real Estate Tower - a member of the Al Majed Group in Lusail City

Doha, Qatar – Gulf Contracting Company (GCC), one of the foremost construction and infrastructure contractors in Qatar held a ceremony on Wednesday 21^st December 2016 to mark the commencement of the structural concrete works on the new tower in Lusail City for Al Majed Real Estate - a member of the Al Majed Group. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al Majed (Chairman Al Majed Group), Mr. Yousuf Al Darwish (Chairman GCC), Mr. Ibrahim Al Jaidah (GCEO AEB Consultants) and Mr. Grahame McCaig (General Manager GCC).

The ceremony coincided with the commencement of the first phase of tower’s 14,000 cubic meter raft foundation concrete pour, which was expected to take 43 hours of continuous pouring.  

Mr. Ahmed Al Majed said: "This is a proud moment to being part of Qatar Vision 2030 by developing a well-equipped commercial complex in future business hub Lusail City Qatar. We are very glad to announce our development partners for this project, Gulf Contracting Company (GCC) and Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB). We certainly look forward for this initiative to be completed and thereby became the partners of national build up. "

Further Mr. Ibrahim Al Jaidah said: “This is a special moment to build a new landmark for Mr. Ahmed Al Majed and we are quite keen and happy to work again and again with GCC, one of the leading and well reputed Contractors in the State of Qatar. We certainly look forward for this unique masterpiece to be completed.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Yousuf Al Darwish said: “On behalf of Gulf Contracting Company, I am very pleased to be here today to witness the initial pouring of concrete for the Al Majed Real Estate Tower. This landmark tower will not only become an icon of Lusail City, but also signifies the start of what I hope will become a long and mutually beneficial relationship between both my and Mr. Ahmed’s organisations.”

Mr. Al Darwish’s sentiment was echoed by GCC General Manager, Mr. Grahame McCaig, who said: “GCC has a long and proud 40 year history in the State of Qatar. Over the past four decades we have compiled an impressive portfolio of projects in Qatar and in doing so have established a solid reputation for delivering excellence. The Al Majed Tower will without doubt compliment that portfolio.”
