Dubai-based Azizi Developments is in talks to launch an ‘iconic tower’, the company’s CEO said on Monday.

"We are looking into having one iconic tower in Dubai,” Farhad Azizi told Thomson Reuters Projects in an interview at the Cityscape Global real estate exhibition in Dubai.

“But it’s not been finalised yet, however, we are under discussion,” he added.

The location of the skyscraper project has not yet been decided, but Azizi said it would be in Dubai in an “iconic location”.

“We want to finalise the land; we want to finalise the design,” he said.

The CEO said the mega development could potentially launch next year.

“We want to time it properly,” Azizi added.

He said the company was looking for a way to add a landmark to the city’s dynamic skyline story.

“Dubai does everything special so we want to be part of that as well,” he said.
