Panda Retail Company has enhanced its presence in Makkah with the opening of its second HyperPanda store on Monday, at Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street, Kakiya District, bringing the number of HyperPanda stores in the Kingdom to 69. The store was inaugurated at an event attended by Nazar Abdulaziz Shimee, Makkah Mayor’s assistant for Investment Development; Saud Faisal Murad, director of Municipal Real Estate Property Department; Rami Yousef Abu Al-Farraj, Director of Department of Municipal Real Estate Property and Sustainable Projects; and a number of top executives and media representatives. The opening of the HyperPanda store comes in line with Panda’s expansion plans focusing on improved performance of the Kingdom’s retail sector and ensuring the sector’s pivotal role in achieving Vision 2030, which aims to raise the contribution of the sector from 50 percent to 80 percent.

One of the Vision 2030’s objectives is to transform the retail sector to make it one of the most important sectors of the national economy to help and support the government’s plans to diversify investment and income sources. With a total area of 4,272 square meters, the new store meets the needs of customers and promises comfortable shopping experiences to all family members. As in other branches spread across the country, the new HyperPanda branch offers under one roof foodstuffs and luxury goods as well as local and international branded goods. “The expansion of our business in Makkah supports Panda’s strategic approach that considers customers our top priority and ensures easy availability of our products in any location. It also supports our Saudization policy aimed at increasing the number of Saudi citizens working in the company in particular, and the entire private sector in general. We have over 7,000 Saudi nationals and Panda is considered one of the largest employers of Saudis,” commented Rayan Mohammad Fayez, Savola Group CEO and Panda Retail Acting CEO.

The new store provides the latest discount offers and competitive prices on a number of products, including vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat, fish, electric and electronic devices, computers, mobile phones, sports equipment and toys. Shoppers who are members of Tawfeer program will enjoy all the benefits offered by the program that aims to encourage savings and help families cut down their monthly budget on purchases by providing exclusive offers periodically on a wide variety of products. Panda forms the Retail Division of the Savola group of companies. It is one of the largest retailers in the Middle East, catering to more than 400 million visitors every year across its different outlets — Panda, HyperPanda and Pandati — which offer a diverse range of high quality products that meet all the needs of the family, at competitive prices.
