· Empower’s Dubai Healthcare City project is with 142,000 RT capacity

Dubai: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, underscores its continuous support for the healthcare sector in Dubai by providing more than 40 healthcare projects with its district cooling services. On the top of the list comes the Dubai Health Care City, where Empower is having a total capacity of 142,000 Refrigeration Tons (RT) in the first and second phases of the project.

This came on the sidelines of the two largest healthcare and laboratory exhibitions in the Middle East and North Africa - the Arab Health 2021 and Medlab Middle East 2021. The events featured a galaxy of top local, regional and international specialists in the fields of medicine and healthcare from more than 150 countries.

Empower stresses its complete support to the meaning and content of the slogan under which the Arab Health 2021 exhibition is launched this year, ‘With Business Unite and Advance Industry’. This is yet done by pursuing the journey of securing cooling services that protect the health of the community.

The company is serving more than 200 medical institutions across Dubai that include major hospitals, clinics and laboratories such as Clemenceau Medical Center (CMC), Mediclinic City Hospital, Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Neuro Spinal Hospital, Barraquer Eye Hospital, Galadari Derma Clinic, The International Modern Hospital, Al Jalila Foundation Head Quarters and many others.

“The healthcare sector lies among the most important domains provided with Empower’s world-class cooling services”, Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said. Such services do embody one of the modern man-made solutions that ensure healthy societies, protect the environment, the climate and natural resources, and effectively reduce fossil fuels-based energy use. Bin Shafar highlights that broadening the scope of these solutions is yet a must to enable societies to enjoy modern life without wasting resources or exposing public health and the environment to the carbon emissions hazards.

Bin Shafar further explained that the company will go on supporting the sector. This is done by enabling medical and treatment institutions, hospitals, laboratories and all other facilities operating under the health care umbrella in Dubai to obtain energy and cost-efficient cooling services that are provided through noise-free operations and that are never interrupted for the comfort of the patients and the medical staff.

Dubai Healthcare City, the largest integrated healthcare district in the Middle East and North Africa, uses Empower’s district cooling services. It encompasses two parts. The first lies at the heart of Dubai on an

area of more than 4 million square feet. The city is home to 160 medical facilities ranging from medical centers, hospitals, clinics, laboratories as well as medical and educational centers, with more than 3,700 professionals in the various medical fields. The second part of the city extends over an area of about 18 million square feet. There are also some public health resorts and residences overlooking the waterfront. In total, it embraces six different areas.
