Manama, Bahrain: Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, hosted an official delegation from the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) on a site tour of the development on Monday, the 3rd of December 2018.

The delegation was headed by His Excellency Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the Electricity and Water Authority, and was received by Dr. Maher Al Shaer, the Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, along with other officials from the Company’s Executive Management and staff. A brief yet detailed presentation on the electricity and water services available in the city was shown to the EWA delegation, followed by which they were then accompanied on a site tour of the project to view the substations and the water distributions system.

The tour demonstrated the efficiency of the main water distribution station in Diyar Al Muharraq, where the company allocates two main ground water tanks with a storage capacity of 5 million gallons each, as well as an elevated tank with a storage capacity of 1 million gallons, along with 3 powerful pumps. The complete construction of the comprehensive station took approximately 1.4 million working hours, which reflects the company's keenness to ensure proficiency in all aspects of its operations. The city now has a water distribution pipeline with a total length of more than 2.5 kilometers that is extended throughout the project.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer said: “On behalf of Diyar Al Muharraq, I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome His Excellency Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Electricity and Water Authority, to view our continuous efforts to provide our community with ideal residential solutions enveloped in smart infrastructure. This visit reflects the interest that both Diyar Al Muharraq and EWA share in providing consistent electricity and water services that are supported by the highest standards and advanced systems. We also aim through our services to contribute in rationing the consumption of these important resources, thereby ensuring environmental sustainability in the township. Therefore, we look forward to strengthening our cooperation with EWA and maintaining the highest quality of services for the welfare of the inhabitants of Diyar Al Muharraq.”

Diyar Al Muharraq commenced constructions of a number of substations of 66 kV throughout the project. Three substations were completed in late September, while work is under way to complete the others. The electricity and water services in Diyar Al Muharraq will ultimately meet the basic daily needs of approximately 147,500 inhabitants when the city’s projects are completed.

Diyar Al Muharraq is a unique master planned city for the people of Bahrain offering a range of housing options and quality lifestyle.
