The UAE will be launching a unified customs strategy tomorrow (November 4) aimed at supporting the country's security and customs systems, reported state news agnecy Wam, citing a senior official.

It will also help maintain community security and stability and improve the UAE's rankings in the international competitiveness indexes, stated Ali Al Kaabi, Customs Commissioner and head of the Federal Customs Authority.

"The strategy will standardise customs systems, strike a balance and harmony and achieve integration of customs work between the federal and local governments," noted Al Kaabi.

The strategy was developed by a team of Emirati customs experts, who own long accumulated experience that will have a positive impact on the customs work, he added.
