Amman: SPARK Jordan - which falls under SPARK, a global non-government organization working in the areas of entrepreneurship and higher education throughout 17 regions worldwide - has recently launched the Bedaya Program, underscoring its goal to enhance employment opportunities and promote economic empowerment in the Kingdom. The Program aims to support the ideas of Jordanian and Syrian youth who have entrepreneurial attributes or creative concepts that have potential significant positive impact.

Registration for the Bedaya Program is open for males and females aged between 18 and 35 from across Jordan, paving the way for participants to transform their innovative ideas into projects that are not only viable on a personal front, but also on the economic level at large, through a combination of effective exercises, challenging competitions and recognition awards.

Participants commence a four-day training to streamline and evaluate their entrepreneurial concepts, after which some qualify for the second stage; an eleven-day course to develop a work plan. Following, those selected for the third stage partake in the Business Plan Competition, with the top ten winners receiving cash prizes of JOD 8,000, JOD 6,000 and JOD 4,000 - for first, second and third place respectively - and JOD 3,000 for those ranking from fourth to tenth place. During all the three stages, participants will be presented with the chance to network with experts, obtain specialized consultations and join top Jordanian business incubators, in addition to potential access to soft loans to finance their projects.

Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bedaya Program will be held in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid and Mafraq - and possibly other governorates depending on the number of applicants. The program is implemented by SPARK partners, namely Manafeth in the center, TTI in the south and Maximal Knowledge in the north.
