A crowded shisha cafe was among the seven businesses that were shut by the Dubai Municipality in 24 hours for flouting Covid safety rules.

The cafe was located in Palm Jumeirah.

Five food establishments in different parts of Dubai and a laundry in Naif were the other shops that were shut down.

Seven shops were fined, while 17 were warned as authorities stepped up Covid safety inspections across the emirate.
