Malls in Dubai will come alive with the spirit of togetherness to celebrate Saudi National Day with a host of spectacular traditional entertainment and a cart serving visitors fresh Arabic coffee and dates this weekend.

Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif, which are owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim — the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia — will give shoppers an insight into heart-warming Khaleeji culture and hospitality in honour of the 87th National Day of Saudi Arabia with shows on Friday and Saturday.

Mall of the Emirates will come alive with three shows of the folkloric Ardah dance, accompanied by traditional Arabic music, daily. There will also be two shows of the vibrant Ayala dance, which celebrates victory, at the mall on both days. At City Centre Mirdif, Arab dancers will enthrall visitors with the Ardah dance for four shows on Friday and six shows on Saturday, while there will be three Ardah dance shows daily at City Centre Deira on the weekend.

Shoppers can also sip on freshly brewed qahwah (Arabic coffee) from the roaming hospitality cart throughout the day on the weekend at Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Deira. Visitors at City Centre Mirdif will be greeted with coffee and dates all weekend, as well.

To add to the celebration this weekend, visitors can indulge in a complimentary suite upgrade and 50 per cent Shine Spa discount at Sheraton Dubai at Mall of the Emirates. Kempinski Hotel – Mall of the Emirates is also offering a 25 per cent off when staying for five nights or more. Shoppers can also look forward to a host of exclusive offers by picking up a Gift Voucher Booklet at any customer service desk at Mall of the Emirates.

At the same time, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif will add to the festive spirit by offering shoppers who spend Dh300 at the malls a chance to enter a daily draw to win gift cards worth Dh5,000 from Thursday to Saturday. Customers can double their chances of winning by shopping at any of the fashion stores at the malls, as well.

Concerts, discounts and fireworks

A number of musical concerts are being organised in Dubai to celerbate Saudi Arabia’s National Day on Saturday.

Hotels in Dubai are also offering promotions and discounts on accommodation, especially for guests from Saudi Arabia, as well as a variety of activities for children.

The celebrations will feature free-to-attend concerts by well-known regional singers Waed and Rakan Khalid on Friday at Dragon Mart 2, and Balqees and Dalia Mubarak at City Walk on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, residents and visitors can watch fireworks near Dubai Creek at 8.30pm.

Dubai Parks and Resorts is organising a number of activities for families and children including the distribution of balloons for children and a fireworks show at Riverland on Friday at 9pm.
