Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has decided to lift a ban on importing live birds, their products and derivatives from the state of South Carolina in the United States of America.

The Ministry said in a statement: "Lifting the ban on importing live birds, their products, derivatives and offal from the state of South Carolina in the United States of America. This decision comes based on a recommendation from the veterinary authority concerned with the demise of the cause of the ban."

In another decision, the Ministry banned the import of live birds, their products, derivatives and offal in Australia. “This decision comes based on a recommendation from the competent veterinary authority until the reason for the ban is removed and a decision in this regard is issued, with the exception of thermally treated products,” the Ministry added.
