KUWAIT CITY - General Commander of the Bahraini Defense Force Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmad Al-Khalifa and visiting Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met in Manama Thursday on an array of mutual issues, mainly military ones.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nasser Sabah commended deep relations between Kuwait and Bahrain, stressing mutual willingness to further promote and develop them in all fields, the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry said in a press statement. He also spoke highly of the continuing development of the Bahraini Defense Force in the fields of practical and scientific training, according to the statement. The meeting was attended by the accompanying delegation of the Kuwaiti first deputy prime minister and defense minister and a host of Bahraini highranking officers.
Sheikh Nasser Sabah arrived in Manama on an official visit to Bahrain at the invitation of Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defense Force and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa also met Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Manama on Thursday.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nasser Sabah conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al- Hamad Al-Sabah to the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing it more progress, welfare and stability, the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry said in a press statement.
Attended by Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah’s accompanying delegation, the meeting focused on the depth of historic and fraternal relations between both sisterly nations. Earlier, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa received Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Al-Sakhir Palace on Wednesday.
