Visitors to the next Connect Event at twofour54 Abu Dhabi will be able to explore the transformative technologies shaping the media industry, from exclusive previews of forthcoming video games to cutting-edge developments in social media and virtual reality, and even a digital fashion collection.

‘Connect with Innovation in Media’ takes place on Wednesday 19 February as part of UAE Innovation Month and is open to both the twofour54 community and the general public. Attendees will be able  to hear from and network with visionary media professionals from participating companies including TikTok, Rababa Games, Vice Arabia, Greener Screen, Russia Creates, Mental Images, MENA Mobile and Alef Education.

The event will include the first chance to see brand new games being developed by award-winning Rababa Games, the team behind hit racing game ‘Drift’. Meanwhile, popular social media platform TikTok will discuss how harnessing data and mobile technology is helping build a creative environment for everyone, and VICE Arabia, a twofour54 partner, will showcase the potential of technology to disrupt the world of fast fashion through  its  purely digital fashion collection – a world first.

Michael Garin, CEO of twofour54 Abu Dhabi, said: “Innovation is the foundation of a thriving and sustainable media sector, which is why one of our top priorities at twofour54 is to encourage and nurture an entrepreneurial spirit.

“But innovation does not happen in isolation, which is why events such as our Connect series are so important as they give the media industry in Abu Dhabi the opportunity to share ideas and expertise, discuss challenges and collaborate on solutions.

“And we are delighted to see so many of our partners, as well as media organisations from around the world, realising the potential of the platform and joining the conversation.”

The event is part of the media zone’s Connect Event series, which brings Abu Dhabi’s media industry together to share expertise and insight on the sector’s exciting future. Among those attending will be twofour54 partners and freelancers, entrepreneurs, members of the 14,000-plus creative lab youth community and representatives of government entities.

The event will feature demonstrations on the latest innovations in media and their impact on the industry, live musical performances by Creative Lab community members and delicious light bites and finger foods.
The Connect series is part of twofour54’s drive to further develop the media industry in Abu Dhabi. Representatives of the free zone, media firms, and government entities come together to learn from each other about the incredible work being done by media firms in the Emirate.
