Sharjah: Dibba Al Hisn beach in Sharjah has added a new attraction for beachgoers with the opening of the Mobile Beach Library (MBL), a literary initiative by Knowledge without Borders (KwB) that celebrates Sharjah’s World Book Capital 2019 title. Now in its seventh phase, the Mobile Beach Library offers hundreds of books spanning a variety of genres to visitors at Dibba Al Hisn. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Sharjah World Book Capital Office (SWBCO) 2019 and the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), aims to make books more accessible to all segments of society across all regions of Sharjah.

KwB also hosted its ‘A Coffee and a Book’ initiative, offering a free book to everyone who made a coffee purchase. The entire proceeds from the coffee sales at the event went to The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), a Sharjah-based global humanitarian charity dedicated to helping refugees and vulnerable people worldwide.

At the inauguration of the Mobile Beach Library at Dibba Al Hisn, visitors also got the opportunity to partake in several beach sports and games.
