UAE: $273 fine, traffic points for throwing masks, gloves on the road

They warned that the transgression posed health and environmental risks to the community

The Abu Dhabi Police on Thursday once again warned motorists and commuters to not throw waste such as masks and gloves on the road.

In a tweet, the police said that those found throwing waste out of a vehicle will face a penalty of Dh1,000 and six traffic points.

Littering on the roads and other public property poses a threat to environmental and public safety, the police added.
