KUWAIT CITY -  The security sources stated that about 30,000 expats visited residency affairs as their residence had expired starting from 1st Sep. Failure to amend the residence status from Article 14 will lead to payment of fines of KD 2 per day.

As some expats still believe that Article 14 (temporary residence) is valid till Nov 30th.

The sources at residency affairs stated that thousands of expats sponsors or companies have not submitted requests to amend the status of residency or to obtain a temporary residence or provide a new work permit issued by the General Authority for Powers for workers to obtain a new residency permit reports al qabas.

Those expats whose residency has expired after August and have not amended the status will have to pay KD 2 per day. MOI has called upon sponsors, heads of families to rectify the status and pay the fine .
