Cairo – Egypt exported 49.6% of its outbound products to six countries over the first ten months of this year, according to the General Organization of Import and Export Control’s (GOEIC) head said.

The US was the top destination of Egyptian exports, having totalled $1.82 billion in the ten-month period to October, followed by the UAE at $1.62 billion, GOEIC’s head Ismail Gaber said in a Thursday statement.

Saudi Arabia came in the third spot, as Egypt exported to the Gulf country $1.43 billion in products during the period, while Turkey imported a total of $1.36 billion of goods originating from Egypt.

In the fifth place, the North African nation’s Italy-bound shipments totalled $1.08 billion, while the UK received $853 million exports, Gaber noted.

Meanwhile, six countries represented 46.4% of overall Egyptian imports, with $9.92 billion products sourced from China, $4.14 billion from the US, $3.53 billion from Italy, $3.44 billion from Germany, $2.91 billion from Russia, and $2.54 billion from Turkey.
