Cairo – Mubasher: The number of foreign nationals working in the Egyptian private sector slid by 8.4% between 2013 and 2017, data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.

Foreign workers in the North African country’s private sector reached nearly 13,460 in 2017, compared to about 14,690 in 2013, according to the state-run agency's statement on Monday.

Meanwhile, foreigners working in Egypt’s government sector totalled 1,132 in 2017, compared to 889 in 2016 and 956 in 2013.

In addition, the number of foreigner workers who obtained the Egyptian citizenship retreated 75.1% during the four-year period, registering 2,216 in 2017 from 8,907 in 2013.
