Cairo – Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, declined by 12.19% month-on-month (MoM) to 103.09 (initial) in July from 117.39 (final) in June, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The index of manufacturing beverages rose by 3.06% to 379.92 in July from 368.63 a month earlier, on the back of increased demand in the summer season, the CAPMAS said in a statement on Monday.

Meanwhile, the index of manufacturing ready-made garments increased by 1.79% MoM to 100.57 in July, compared to 98.80.

On the other hand, the index of manufacturing chemical materials and products fell by 13.99% to 95.66 in July, compared to 111.22 in June.

Additionally, the index of manufacturing pharmaceutical and chemical products dropped by 16.37% to 104.26 from 124.67 in June.
