Egypt pledges $637mln for housing sector

The national project will be carried out over two phases

ArabFinance: The Egyptian government allocated EGP 10 billion to develop residential public units across provincial capitals nationwide, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad announced in a December 1ststatement.

The national project will be carried out over two phases, with the first including 13 plots, Saad noted.

The second stage covers the renovation of houses across 31 areas, the spokesman added.

Earlier this year, housing minister Assem el Gazzar considered the establishment of 250,000 social housing units across Egypt.
