UAE – Mubasher: The Emirati ENOC Group, the official integrated energy partner of Expo 2020, has completed 40% of the construction of the Ghaf-tree inspired service station, located at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

The region’s first LEED Gold certified service station is forecast to be fully constructed by June 2020, according to a press release on Monday.

Equipped with six pumps to serve up to 80,000 litres of fuel for 2,000 vehicles daily, the station’s first phase will serve around 500 official Expo 2020 Dubai vehicles.

Meanwhile, the sustainable station will adopt smart, energy-efficient, and renewable solutions including wind turbine and photovoltaic (PV) solar panels to save 48% of power and reduce nearly 100,000 kgs of carbon dioxide emissions.

Highly efficient fixtures will also be used to allow up to 30% of energy savings, alongside with a navigation lighting system with motion and occupancy sensors to save 15% of energy.

The CEO of ENOC, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, said: “The ‘Service Station of the Future’ embodies our commitment to ‘Reimagine Energy’ by creating a prototype of the future of retail service stations.”

Al Falasi remarked: “In addition to serving as a testament to our drive to innovate and set new standards for the industry, this station will contribute to Expo 2020 Dubai plans to leave behind a powerful legacy for Dubai and the UAE.”
