MANAMA: Alba, the world’s largest aluminium smelter ex-China, has announced its new vision, mission and values.

The announcement follows this year’s ‘majlis’ session led by chief executive Ali Al Baqali yesterday.

Alba’s new Vision is: To be the number one aluminium supplier for the generations to come; Mission is: Being a responsible corporate citizen, create value for all stakeholders and society; and Values are: Safe and Green, Together, Ethics, Excellence and Resilience will set Alba in motion where Safety, People Development, Governance and Sustainability will be its linchpins.

During the session, the CEO also announced the company’s Objectives for 2021 – Safety Excellence, Al Hassalah (new savings’ programme), Forward Focus and Emerge Stronger.

Mr Al Baqali said: “We can’t change 2020 but we can learn from it to emerge stronger and get better as a company. Rolling out our 2021 objectives, we hope to make 2021 count for all our stakeholders and society.”

This year’s majlis, held at the Oasis Hall, was attended by the executive management, directors and managers. The remaining sessions will be held virtually tomorrow and on Thursday.

The annual majlis kicked off last January when Mr Al Baqali took charge as the CEO.

Held at the beginning of the year, the event is a two-way communication platform where the top official sheds light on major highlights of the past year, reviews current market trends and shares the objectives of the new year.
