ArabFinance: President Abdel Fattah el Sisi ratified a decree allowing Egypt to join the African Union Convention on Combating and Preventing Corruption (AUCPCC), according to an August 23rdOfficial Gazette statement.

The convention was signed by the African Union (AU) 55 member states in Mozambique in 2003. It was later approved by the Egyptian parliament in 2017.

The AUCPCC’s goal is promoting, facilitating, and regulating cooperation among the AU states, in order to ensure the effectiveness of measures and actions to prevent, detect, punish, and eradicate corruption and related offenses.
