Tehran - Iran has produced crude steel more than 9.6 million tons during past seven months of the year 2015 up by 3.7 percent compared with the same period of preceding year, the World Steel Association said on Saturday.

IMIDRO told IRNA that Iran produced 9.645 million tons crude steel during past seven months of year 2015, while the figure was 9.305 million tons in the same period of preceding year (2014).

WSA said that 65 world steel producing countries produced 945.843 million tons crude steel in the past seven months down by 2.1 percent compared with the same period of preceding year, because figure was 966.482 million tons in 2014.

World 65 steel producing countries output decreased 3.8 percent to 132.900 million tons in July, 2015.

Iran's production in July 2015 was 1.273 million tons, down by 1.3 percent compared with the same month of 2014.

According to the WSA statistics, steel production trend in 29 world steel producing countries during first seven months of the year decreased by 1.8 percent China, 8.4 percent US, 4.8 percent Japan, 3.9 percent South Korea, 9.7 Argentina, 0.3 Australia, 1.7 France, 0.7 Germany, 10.7 Italy, 8 percent Norway and 6.3 percent Turkey.

Iran ranked first in the region of the Middle East and 14th in the world level of steel producers.

Iran has predicted to produce 55 million tons steel n its vision plan for year 1404.
