Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) in cooperation with the National Center for Statistics & Information (NCSI) conducted a public opinion survey during 15th – 31st, December 2020 on knowledge, practices and behaviors regarding the vaccination against Covid-19.

The study sample included about 3000 individuals, 67% of which were Omanis and 33% were expatriates.

According to the results, society's awareness of COVID-19 ranges between middle and high. The percentage of familiarity with the disease symptoms and prevention methods reached 96% for both, awareness of the transmission of the disease and dealing with the symptom when it is appear reached 95% for both and knowing the most infected groups is reached 93%.

About the source of information, the results revealed that 67% of individuals rely on social media and 56% rely on television.

More than half of the society believes that the vaccine may protect against the Covid-19. In addition, the survey showed that 93% of Omani and 79% of residents are aware of the use of vaccines.

Nearly 57% of the Omani society is willing to take the vaccine. In which, 84% of those who agree to take the two doses and 42% have no worries to take the vaccine and will advise their families and friends to do the same.
