Dubai: Careem, the leading technology platform in MENA, Pakistan & Turkey, has announced its partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading financial hub in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, enabling easier access to Dubai’s most exciting business and lifestyle destination. The strategic partnership between two of Dubai’s most innovative organisations demonstrates the commitment to supporting Dubai’s local ecosystem and creating a seamless infrastructure for the business and lifestyle community.

Designed to further bolster the connectivity, mobility, and accessibility of the centre for both visitors and the 24,000 strong DIFC community, the partnership will offer significant discounts for those wishing to visit the destination, providing even more reasons to live, work and play in DIFC. Visitors will now find Careem totems around Gate Avenue that contain the promo-code, enabling them to enjoy up to 10 discounted rides per month to and from the location. The offer is valid on Economy, Business, Kids and Max car types.

Working alongside the DIFC, Careem will bring greater transportation services to the financial centre, whilst providing an offering in synergy with the needs of customers and the overall community. The ride-hailing promo-codes provide greater access to DIFC and Gate Avenue, which seamlessly connects all buildings in the hub, providing a fully accessible, year-round destination.

Commenting on the partnership, Gheed El Makkaoui, Careem’s UAE General Manager, said: “The UAE is a fast-paced destination and we at Careem continuously look for ways to facilitate day to day in the midst of their busy lifestyles. We are confident that this partnership will offer those who are living, working and visiting DIFC a seamless experience.”

Peyman Al Awadhi, Senior Vice President - Marketing & Corporate Communications, DIFC Authority, said: “The goal of Dubai International Financial Centre is to create an enabling environment for both business and leisure, empowering our community to take the time out to relax and recharge within the Centre. We are proud to be able to work with a leading service provider such as Careem to implement improved transport links to and from Dubai’s most dynamic destination. Our partnerships with homegrown entities are an important part of our strategy to support the local ecosystem and showcase Dubai as the leading global financial centre – a great place to live, work, play and do business.”

Centrally located between new and old Dubai and less than 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport, DIFC is situated in close proximity to bustling Downtown Dubai and offers direct access to Dubai's main highway, providing ease of travel to major hubs such as the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City. With an extensive range of transport links within the Centre as well as two Metro stations and a number of bus stops, the DIFC is well connected for visitors to enjoy the best of Dubai and beyond.

The partnership between DIFC and Careem follows the launch of Careem Pay Wallet which enables individuals to pay for rides with cash, card, Careem PAY Credit, a Careem Package, or points from loyalty partners.
